Strand - Multimedia/Presentation Best Practice(s) Modeled: Use Powerpoint and digital audio recorders to produce a "school book" Description of Lesson and/or Unit: Students traveled around the building with digital cameras and took pictures of important people and places in the school. They inserted these pictures into Powerpoint and wrote sentences about the individuals and settings. The ESOL specialist recorded the students' voices and uploaded those files to Connect 2 School. The students then inserted the audio files into the Powerpoint presentations. The students then shared their book on the morning news program, Ribbet News, they introduced the project and then the presentation was shared. To "publish" this work to the web, the technology specialist exported the powerpoint slides as jpegs, inserted them into iMovie and added the audio files to the iMovie, and compressed the movie for web streaming.
