Welcome to the Carrboro School Improvement Team (SIT) Homepage! 
    

The School Governance Committee (SGC) was a site-based management team consisting of 11 to 15 people.  It is now called the SIT (School Improvement Team) which is also a site based management team consisting of administrators, staff and parents. As per state statute, the purpose of a School Improvement Team (SIT) is to "develop a school improvement plan to strengthen student performance."

SITs may deal with issues directly or indirectly related to instruction, student performance, and the school environment/improvement.  Elected representatives serve the Carrboro SIT for a two year term and abide by an operational framework approved by the CHCCS School Board.

 Carrboro SIT meetings are held at Carrboro Elementary. The SIT Meeting Schedule, as well as agendas and minutes from past SGC and SIT meetings, are located in the Meetings/Agendas section.

Agendas will be posted to the website prior to each meeting. 

All meetings are open to the public and begin with the opportunity for public remarks.
