Check out our safety film on Slips/Trips and Falls, posted on YouTube. Our next cinematic creation to be announced! The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Safety Compliance and Energy Conservation Office was formed in 1994 under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services. The initial focus of the Safety Officer was directed towards playground safety, American Disability Act disputes, North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health regulations, worker training, hazardous materials control, the AHERA program, underground storage tank regulations, industrial hygiene testing of employees, and energy conservation issues. David Tinker was hired as the first District Safety Officer and continues in that role with added responsibilities for NC Workers Compensation and insurance documentation, Integrated Pest Management perview, the District Chemical Hygiene Plan, and indoor air quality. Additionally, the Safety officer will provide ergonomic work station surveys upon request. |
