 Every day, 4,800 students board a school bus operated by the Transportation Department in order to come to school. The Transportation Department employs 81 people, 65 of whom are bus drivers. The Transportation Department is challenged to think creatively when designing routes and services for students who are enrolled in special district programs, such as Chinese Dual Language or LEAP. The district operates 45 regular buses and 11 mini buses for both morning and afternoon routes. Seventeen additional activity buses are also included in the fleet to transport students to special events and field trips. |
