Elementary Summer Camp Program

Mission
The Community Schools Programs provide safe, high quality, licensed school-age care that leads children towards independence by stimulating social, emotional, intellectual and physical development through age-appropriate enrichment and recreational activities.

 
Summer Camp Registration Information
Registration begins on February 9, 2009.  Forms will be processed in the order received until the programs reach capacity. Wait lists are formed as necessary.

Fees (per student) summer 2009:
$35 registration fee
$50 deposit for each week requested (credited toward total fees)
$155 per week (less $50 deposit prepaid)

Summer Camp Operating Information
CHCCS Summer Camp is a licensed school-age care program featuring a wide variety of exciting recreational and enrichment activities.

Program Locations:
Summer Camp locations vary from year to year, based on elementary school facility availability.

2009 Sumnmer Camp:
Sites: Frank Porter Graham, Glenwood, McDougle Elementary
Hours: 7:45 AM - 5:45 PM
Ratios: 1 staff person for up to 16 children
Dates: Six one-week sessions:

June 22 - June 26
June 29 - July 2*
July 6 - July 10
July 13 -July 17
July 20 - July 24
July 27 - July 31

*Camps closed Friday, July 3

Organized indoor and outdoor games
Theme-related activities in arts, crafts, music, dramatic play, language arts, cooking, science, and more!

Lunch/Snacks:
Lunch and two snacks are provided daily through the school district's Child Nutrition Program.

Transportation:
Parents must transport children to and from camp each day. Transportation for field trips (by activity bus) is coordinated through the school district's Transportation Department.
