Mr. Dutton 2012-2013 AP and Organic Chemistry Expectations and Policies
Know how to find the website and the information found there. Go to the ECHHS home page, departments, science, me, AP Chemistry or Organic Chemistry.
Classroom Actions
1. Do what you are supposed to do when you are supposed to do it.
Should you find yourself not doing what you are supposed to do when you are supposed to do it, you will be reminded once. We will have a “chat” the second time. You do not want to go there a third time (you know, administrators, parents, etc.).
2. Cheating (i.e. lying, academic dishonesty, deceiving, stealing, having no integrity, etc.)
There is NO tolerance for such. NONE!! A severe rebuke will occur the first time, loudly and openly. A second time that even the thought of such behavior brings out the ZERO grade and, you know, administrators, parents, etc. Oh, none of the “I was just getting the homework because I did not understand it.” We know the difference, do we not?
3. Classwork
Please bring your own pens, pencils, three-ring binder (brought every day to class), references tables and a calculator.
Assignments will have a due date. Late assignments will receive 75% of the grade after the due date. An excused absence will allow you one day for each day you missed to turn in the work.
You will have one week to make up a test by arrangement with me. Labs will have to be made up within one week by arrangement with me.
5. Miscellaneous rules
No whining. If you have a legitimate concern, see me after class. If you want to whine, go to another class.
You will be required to have a written note to go outside the classroom even for the bathroom. (Ms. Tully’s rules!) We will usually take a break between periods.
No horseplay in the lab, period. Consequences will happen on the first instance.
School policy will be followed on tardies and absences.
