I'm a kindergartner. How many books may I check out?   1 book!

I'm a 1st grader. How many books may I check out?   2 books!

I'm a 2nd grader. How many books may I check out?   3 books!

I'm a 3rd grader. How many books may I check out?   3 books!

I'm a 4th grader. How many books may I check out?   4 books!

I'm a 5th grader. How many books may I check out?   5 books!

I'm in LEAP. How many books may I check out?   5 books!

May I renew a book if I'm not finished reading it?   Maybe. We won't renew a book if it is very popular and other students are waiting to read it.

I forgot to return the book on time.   There is not a fine for overdue books. You should, however, keep good track of when your books are due (look at the due date inside the front cover). Also, renew your books to avoid overdue status.

Woops, what happens if I lost or damaged a book I checked out?   You will have to pay for the recorded cost of the book. Many times items are eventually found and returned, so we prefer you pay at the end of the school year.  Once we speak with an adult in your home, you will have full borrowing privileges restored. If you find and return a book that you've already paid for, your payment will be refunded.

May I donate unwanted books to the Seawell Library Media Center?   Books that are both appropriate and in good condition are gratefully accepted. They may be added to the library collection, the book swap rack, or passed along to classroom teachers.

What is the Book Swap?   The Book Swap is available to grades 3-5. You may exchange your own books that are in good condition and appropriate for the 3-5 grades. Limit of 3 books per visit, please.
